Finalized design of my character for the group #PokesoftheCaribbean. Soooo excited~

THE ANATOMY SUCKS BALLS THOUGH IT LOOKED SO MUCH BETTER IN MY SKETCHBOOK...WTF HAPPENED?! Oh well, there's still time to either fix it or redraw it completely.

- HISTORY:
Born on the volcanic island of Martinique, Eliza called the city of Saint-Pierre home. She is the second of four children and is the oldest daughter of British merchant, George Knowlton and French Marquise, Isabelle Knowlton nee Laurent. As a child, Eliza and her siblings were denied nothing and given everything their hearts desired. The girls in the family were taught to be proper young ladies, though they often skipped their lessons to go play with their brothers on Mount Pelee. As she got older, she began to catch the attentions of the town’s bachelors and soon had several suitors calling for her hand. However, it was her childhood sweetheart, Nicholas Warren, who was the object of her affections and with the blessings of her parents, the two were engaged.

Along with her father and fiancée, Eliza sailed to Port-au-Prince in regards to some wedding plans. Nearing the end of their trip, their ship was caught in the crosshairs of a tropical storm and sank somewhere in-between Jamaica and Haiti. Her fiancée drowned during the storm while her father survived and was picked up by a naval ship a couple days later; Eliza had managed to cling to a piece of wreckage and got caught up in the sea’s current then was swept onto an unknown coast. (She still doesn’t know the fate of her father or fiancée) Lost in a strange city, teeming with criminals and pirates, Eliza knew that she was quite vulnerable in her current state. Her only idea at the time was a disguise, so she quietly roamed the streets stealing clothes off of various (unconscious) drunks; she was also able to obtain an old musket and knife, which she used to hack off most of her hair. She set out to identify the port she was in, so she could set up a plan to return home. (With the help of a “stolen” map and her compass) However, her plans went awry when she accidently became involved in a tavern brawl. She managed to escape relatively unscathed and sprinted to the docks, thinking that no one would be down there. Her luck ran out when she collided with none other than Captain Jack Sparrow. Quickly coming to the conclusion that the pirate might be able to aid her in her journey home, she begged the man permission to join his crew.

- PERSONALITY:
(Eliza) A quick-witted, intelligent young woman who knows what is expected of her; playing the part of a polite, demure and delicate lady. She is a sweet girl, if not naïve, and loves to go on outings with her family and fiancée. However, she has a mischievous streak and enjoys playing harmless pranks on her unsuspecting siblings or servants. Despite the expectation that women should be seen and not heard, if someone insults her family or friends, she will lash out and cut down the offender with insults (Much to the dismay of her mother). Surprisingly, she is quite vengeful.

(Elijah) Eliza has adopted the persona of Elijah Warren: An awkward, nervous young man who is in way over his head on a ship full of pirates. Though an unwilling member of the crew, he is eager to prove himself to be as capable as anyone else; if only to keep his cover. Untrusting and easily intimidated, he holds people at arm’s length (if not farther) and isn’t too keen on the idea of getting close to anyone, believing it would only end in disaster. He allows himself to be teased and pushed around constantly, but if pushed the wrong way he will seek revenge in the form of pranks and isn’t above destroying another’s property. But at the slight chance he does become close with someone; he will be a loyal friend. (Even though he still won’t reveal his secrets...intentionally that is.) Every now and then, “Eliza” will show up in Elijah’s reactions to situations mostly in the form of naivety and innocence.

- CLOTHING OF CHOICE: Wearing men’s clothing has become both a blessing and a curse for Eliza. While she enjoys the freedom of wearing trousers, she hates having to bind her chest under her shirt. And no matter how hot the weather gets, you will never see her remove ANY of her clothing.
- ACCESSORIES: An old musket, a knife (she doesn’t know how to use either weapon), a compass, a crucifix necklace and her engagement ring (hidden)

- EXTRA INFO:
* Bilingual, she speaks fluent French and English.
* She cannot swim. (Not from any unwillingness on her part, her mother forbade it)
* Educated, she is able to read and write. This also extends to reading a map and compass.
* Like many young women, she was taught to sing and dance, but you won’t ever catch her doing either as Elijah unless she’s CONVINCED that she’s alone.
* She is desperate to learn how to use her musket and knife, since as of now she can’t do anything but miss her targets.

SO IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TWEAKING/CORRECTING, TELL ME PLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEE! IT LOOKS HISTORICALLY ACCURATE TO ME, BUT WHAT DO I KNOW? 8'D
